Cerceyn Backup · last updated 6 September 2026
Cerceyn Backup collects nothing. It is a personal backup tool with a single operator, who is also its only user.
The application requests the Google Drive scope drive.file. That scope
limits access to files the application itself creates. It cannot read, list, or modify
any other content in the connected Google Drive account.
The files it creates are encrypted backup archives produced by restic. They are encrypted on the operator's computer before upload. The application never transmits decryption keys anywhere.
None. There is no server-side component, no database, no analytics, no advertising, no cookies, and no tracking of any kind on this website.
No data is sold, rented, or shared with third parties. Backup archives are stored only in the operator's own Google Drive account and on the operator's own devices.
Backup archives are kept according to a retention policy set by the operator and are deleted automatically when they age out. The operator may delete all stored data at any time from the Google Drive web interface.
Access can be withdrawn at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Revoking removes the application's ability to reach any file in the account.
